German Language Courses

Information about registration (Summer semester 2026)

The German courses for international students and staff will start at the MLU Language Centre from 13.04.2026 (end of course: 17.07.2026)

Enrolment for the German courses for the summer semester 2025 takes place from 16.03.-30.03. 2026  via Stud.IP  or  via Contactus - courses (uni-halle.de).

After 30.03.2026, registration for the German courses is no longer possible.

New incoming students and students who never studied before at MLU Language Center, are invited to do a 30-minutes-placement test on March, 30. at 15:00 (Room: Computerpool LLZ, Hoher Weg 8).

The second placement test takes place on Tuesday, 07.04.2026.

This test is mandatory for all new students (A2 and higher, not for A1 courses). After you have registered in  ‘contactus’, you will receive one week before the test an e-mail with further details about the placement test.

ECTS points are awarded for all courses (exception: phonetics). All ECTS courses end with an exam.

Please note that our courses are limited to a maximum of 20 participants. At the Language Center, we can only accept enrolled students and employees of the Martin Luther University Halle in our courses.

The courses with 10 ECTS are prioritized for program students (Business Economics).
